Mid-autumn Festival is a popular and important lunar harvest festival celebrated by Chinese people. The festival is held on the 15th day of the eighth month in the Chinese calendar. There are some traditions in this holiday. For example, people would have a big dinner with their families. After dinner, they often enjoy the full moon which is round and bright. The other tradition of mid-autumn festival is eating moon cake. Moon cake is the essential of that day, which means reunion.
Where to go on middle autumn day to learn more about Chinese culture?
The 16th China Sichuan International Baked Food & Mid-Autumn Mooncake Culture Festival will be held Sept. 2-15 at Chengdu Shawan International Exhibition Center.
Many kinds of foods and agricultural products are to be exhibited during the festival, including mooncakes, local baked foods, wines, teas, and so on. Many colorful activities will be presented during the festival to highlight the traditional culture of the Mid-Autumn Festival.

The DIY Creative Mooncake Party for Foreigners & Celebrating Chinese Mid-Autumn Festival is to be held in Shangri-La Hotel Chengdu, and interns can join in the party to celebrate the festival and experience the traditional Chinese culture.
Activities of the program:
- traditional production of mooncakes by chefs;
- DIY creative mooncakes by participants with ingredients provided by the hotel;
- taste the mooncakes made by others, share mooncake-making experience;
