What Is The Business Internship All About?

What business sectors are available for internship in China?
SII offers placements in all kind of industries. However, as we are committed for a quality internship where you will be able to learn as well as contribute, we won’t be placing candidates in positions where there will be no English speaking manager to tutor you and also not in companies who so not provide specific job description . This is the reason we avoid placing interns in some specific industries such as civil engineering, construction etc even though it’s possible to host companies in this areas.

In addition, you also have the opportunity to book our accommodation package as an option and to move into one of our intern housings. You will get a single room and live with other SII interns just like yourself. You will already have a place to stay while doing your business internship in China right at your arrival and don’t need to worry about finding your own place to stay.
For those who want to combine their internship with learning Chinese, there is also the opportunity to join our Chinese Friend program. Your personal Chinese Friend will teach you Chinese two times a week and will be there for you as your first local friend. Your Chinese friend will assist you in all your logistical matters, will show you the city, or just meet up with you for a cup of tea in the tea house.

- While considering our prices, please remember that over 70% of our host companies provide monthly allowance or other money valued benefits that can help you cover some of your expanses.
All inclusive package:
Besides matching you with the right host company, the all inclusive package will cover all the logistics and administrative necessities for you to start your internship smoothly without the need to spend time, effort and money on a lot of arrangements. The package will include:

2.Need to bare the rent yourself.
3.Monthly Internship Allowance from 1500-2500 RMB for 4-6month length internship program
- If you do not need accommodation arrangements please feel free to arrange it for yourself. In this case, we won’t charge you any extra fee for accommodation.
- Apartment deposit will be required by house manager and will be returned in the end of the internship period.
- 200€ application fee should be paid once you decide to enroll in our program and the remaining amount is due only after SII has successfully placed you within a company. This amount is included in the price and refundable in case SII do not match you with a company according to your requirements.
Chinese Language Study Program
With our Chinese Language Study Program, you have the unique opportunity to gain a deeper insight into China’s culture and combine Chinese language studies with your internship.
A Chinese teacher who is professional in teaching foreigners Chinese will be your mentor for the whole duration of your stay and support you in any upcoming issues. This package will include 2 hours of private Chinese classes every week taught by your new Chinese friend in the city.

City Orientation: An SII representative will meet with you to discuss practical matters of living in Chengdu, give you some helpful tips about Chinese culture, and answer any questions you may have.
Welcome Dinner: We invite every intern for a spectacular first meal in China in the finest Chinese tradition!
Survival Chinese Class: We provide one free survival Chinese class to every intern taking part in our program. This class helps you get a feel for the Chinese language and learn some useful words and phrases that can help you in your daily life in China.
We strongly recommend that anyone who chooses to live in China, even for a short period of time, learn at least basic Chinese. Speaking the language will allow you to communicate with locals, and generally help you better understand the way of life in China. Business and Networking Events: In order to understand business in China, it is essential to get out of the office and meet people!
As a result of having worked in business consulting in Chengdu for over ten years, SII has established strong connections within the local and foreign business communities, including with the Chamber of Commerce and the local government. We arrange for our interns to participate in business events taking place in the city, as well as visits to interesting business and cultural exhibitions.
Visa Application and Extension Guidance: The process of applying for a Chinese visa varies from country to country, and if you are coming for a long-term internship, an extension of your visa will be required. SII will guide you through the application process. This includes providing you with an invitation letter from your host company if the need arises.
24/7 Support Service: We are available to you 24/7 for any issue that may arise or in case of an emergency. We keep in touch with our interns in the city and check up on them regularly. You are welcome to contact us with any problem or question you have, or even just drop by for coffee if the mood strikes you.

Bank transfer fees – if you are paying for your internship fees by bank transfer, you will bear any bank fees applied by your bank
Visa, visa extension, and travel document fees
By establishing connections with locals so early on, you will be able to experience China in a way that most people that come here for a relatively short time find it difficult to do. You will gain deeper insight into Chinese culture, and make some of your most lasting memories with your Chinese friend.
Who are the Chinese teachers that take part in the program?
All of our Chinese teachers are university students/ Graduates majoring in teaching Chinese as a second language. As a result, they all speak fluent English and are also available to teach you Chinese.
What’s included in the program?
-Chinese language course – two times of Chinese language private lessons every week, 1 hour per time – taught by your Chinese friend in your home or any place that quiet and cozy.
-Chinese study materials
-Cultural immersi: discover interesting places in the city, experience the rich nightlife of Chengdu, and grow to love Sichuanese cuisine. Your Chinese friend will share with you insights about Chinese culture, and if you really hit it off, they will probably even invite you to join a family dinner in their homes!

Please make sure that the application contains the following:

2.Interview with SII -We will review your application and contact you for an initial Skype interview with us.
3.Acceptance-. We will send you an e-mail confirming your acceptance to our business internship program and will start to introduce your profile to our host companies according to your internship requirements. At this stage you will need to pay the initial deposit of 200€ in order to ensure your commitment to the process( refundable in case SII do not match you with a host company according to the requirements )
4.Interview with Host Company –once a host company had shown interest in your profile, we will send you the company info to approve and will arrange a Skype interview between you and the manager in charge.
5.Internship confirmation – once the host company had decided to accept you as an intern, we will send you signed internship confirmation letter. At this stage you will need to pay the rest of the placement fee due within 5 working days. (800€ minus 200 € application fee you already paid as a part of the placement fee)
6.Prepare for arrival – We will walk you through necessary documents, ticket purchase, and prepare for your arrival in Chengdu!

With an internship of longer than 3 months you will receive a monthly allowance from your host company in order to help you to sustain yourself during your time abroad. Depending on the company a monthly allowance of 1000 – 3000 RMB per month.
WELCOME PACKAGE INCLUDED:
In our business internship program in China, there is our Welcome Package included, with an airport pick-up, a Chinese survival class to communicate you the most important vocabulary and phrases, our Chinese survival kit with useful things and the participation in various business and networking events so you can connect to the local community and government.
We can provide you a place to live in our shared apartment for a monthly fee so you don’t have to go into the trouble of finding a place.
CHINESE FRIEND PROGRAM:
For a monthly fee, we will find for you a volunteering Chinese friend, who will teach you Chinese twice a week and who will assist you as a local friend in all logistical matters that may arise or will be just there for you, to show you the city.
VISA APPLICATION AND EXTENSION GUIDANCE:
The process of applying for a Chinese visa varies from country to country, and if you are coming for a long-term internship, an extension of your visa will be required. SII will guide you through the application process. We will also make sure, that you receive your letter of invitation from host company in a timely manner in order for you to apply for visa.
PERSONAL CARE AND SERVICE:
We are not McDonalds. We do not operate with an anonymous internship assembly line. We see every intern as a person and put time and effort into finding for you the best possible internship that suits you. The SII team consists of both Chinese and Westerners, who will help assist your needs. We are available for you 24/7 for any issue that may arise or in case of an emergency. I had a great time in Chengdu, the internship was very inteesting and exciting. I had problems with the VISA sometimes but SII and my colleagues always found a solution. Through SII, I got contact with the other trainees in the city very easily. There are so many highlights that it is difficult to point out just one.
